Frauenzentrum Schokofabrik
The
The Frauenzentrum Schokofabrik sees itself as an open place for women, lesbians, inter*, non-binary*, trans* and agender individuals with a range of different offerings. The association "Frauenzentrum Schokoladenfabrik e.V." includes the areas: counseling, events, self-help assistance, Hamam, SchokoSport, meeting point - education and counseling for refugee, migrant, and Black women, girls, trans*, inter* and non-binary adults and youth. The team of the association currently consists mostly of white cis-dyadic employees, interns, and volunteers. We have different qualifications in the fields of: education, social work, psychology & therapy, law, crafts, health & sports, social sciences, cultural management, administration & economics. The Schokofabrik has its origins in the struggles of the women's movement of the 1980s and has since been in a constant process of confrontation and development. We advocate for the rights, social justice, and access to societal participation for all women, girls, inter*, trans* and non-binary people who are patriarchally discriminated against due to their gender identity and are particularly affected by sexism, racism, violence, and poverty. The Frauenzentrum Schokofabrik works
- intersectionally, by aligning our work with the different life realities and resources of our visitors, considering privileges, and actively trying to counteract exclusions,
- in solidarity,
- power- and discrimination-critical,
- non-pathologizing and empathetic in counseling.
We are aware that our own structures are not free from power relations and discrimination, which is why we are in an ongoing process of reflection.
