Teaching Assistant - Public Management (gn)
The Curricular Affairs department of the Hertie School invites applications for a Teaching Assistant position to support the delivery of the core course Public Management in Fall 2026. The course will be offered within the Master of Public Policy programme and will be taught by Dr. Salvador Parrado.
Terms of employment:
- Employment period: August 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027 (six months)
- Workload: On average, 5 hours per week, totalling 130 hours over the employment period. Actual weekly working hours may vary over the semester and are subject to mutual agreement
Your tasks:
- Assist with session preparation, including development of presentation materials
- Set up and maintain the course Moodle page (uploading readings, syllabus, and related materials)
- Lead individual course sessions as needed
- Support the grading of assignments and exams, and the provision of feedback, as needed
- Liaise with the examination office and the Digital Learning Designer to carry out digital exams
- Proctor exams
Your profile:
- At least a completed bachelor's programme in a relevant field, PhD researchers from the Hertie School or another German university will be given preference.
- Strong academic background in public administration, public management, or a closely related field.
- Teaching experience is desirable.
