About Lebenshilfe Ludwigshafen/Rhein e.V.

The Lebenshilfe Ludwigshafen/Rhein e.V. is a non-profit organization that has been committed to the interests of people with intellectual disabilities and their families since 1961. It sees itself as a partner and service provider that offers support, promotion and guidance in various stages of life.

The organization operates a variety of facilities and services tailored to the individual needs of people with intellectual disabilities. These include various forms of housing, such as the Hans-Werner-Kleiber-Haus, the Wohnhaus Böhl, the Hedy-Erlenkötter-Haus, the Wilhelm-Hiemenz-Haus and the Kurt-Hahn-Haus, as well as Supported Living, which offers assistance for a self-determined life.

Another focus is on the promotion and support of people with severe multiple disabilities in day care centers, such as the TaFö Rheinhorststraße, the TaFö Kurt-Hahn-Haus and the TaFö Wilhelm-Hiemenz-Haus. For families with small children, Lebenshilfe Ludwigshafen offers early home support, which provides advice and support from birth. The Integrative Kindertagesstätte "Sonnenblume" enables children with and without disabilities to learn and play together in curative education and integrative groups.

The Open Assistance offers children, adolescents and adults with intellectual disabilities assistance and support in the areas of leisure, education and family support services. The aim is to promote equal participation in social and cultural life and to enable encounters between people with and without disabilities.

The Lebenshilfe Ludwigshafen/Rhein e.V. stands for acceptance, respect and recognition and opposes discrimination and exclusion. It sees intellectual disability as an expression of the diversity of human life, which in no way diminishes the value of life. The central task of the organization is to ensure a life in the middle of society for people with disabilities and their families.
