About Familienzentrum St. Johannes Kirchhellen

The Familienzentrum St. Johannes Kirchhellen, located in the heart of Kirchhellen, has been a certified NRW family center since 2007. With a history dating back to 1959, the facility offers a diverse range of services for children and families in the social area.

The family center cares for children aged 2 years until they start school in various group forms. Great emphasis is placed on inclusion and integration in order to enable each child to develop in the best possible way. Special attention is paid to children with increased support needs, who are primarily admitted to individual integration.

In addition to childcare, the Familienzentrum St. Johannes offers a wide range of courses and advice for parents and families. These include an open parent café, consultation hours for language development advice, a counseling center for parents, children and young people, and parent events on pedagogically important topics. In cooperation with the Catholic family education center, parent-child courses such as baby massage and parent-child groups are also offered.

The family center sees itself as a meeting place where children and parents can make contacts, play, work and celebrate together. It works closely with other institutions, groups and associations from the Catholic community of Kirchhellen to create a comprehensive network for families. The aim is to create a common experience space for children, parents and experts and to promote the further development of the family center through suggestions and commitment from all those involved.
