Mission and Values
editThe main mission of GPPi is to strengthen global governance by developing innovative approaches for effective and accountable governance, promoting political and social entrepreneurship, and building strategic communities between the public sector, business, and civil society. GPPi firmly believes that effective and accountable governance depends on individuals who are creative, thoughtful, and willing to work across borders[2].
Key Products and Services
editGPPi focuses on six core areas of global governance:
- Humanitarian Action
- Peace and Security
- Global Order
- Human Rights and Democracy
- Migration
- Data and Technology Policy
GPPi offers three core services:
- Research: GPPi conducts research to analyze and understand global affairs. The research findings are presented in a clear and accessible manner to build bridges between academia and practice[2].
- Policy Advice: GPPi provides policy advice for clients from the public sector, including the United Nations, the European Commission, and national governments. The research findings are translated into practical recommendations to support organizational change and learning processes[2].
- Public Debates: GPPi promotes public debates on key issues in global politics and brings people together to exchange ideas and develop joint initiatives[2].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editGPPi is committed to promoting sustainable and organic growth to remain flexible and creative. The institute has opted for an informal culture and the nurturing of trust within the team, which is seen as an ideal environment for creative and forward-thinking.[2]
An important aspect of GPPi's work is the promotion of equality. The institute is fully committed to promoting equality at all levels and in all aspects of its work[2].
Partnerships and Networks
editGPPi collaborates with a constantly growing global network of individuals and organizations to achieve economies of scale and impact. This includes partnerships with leading universities and research institutions as well as with international organizations such as the United Nations and the European Commission[2].
Leadership and Management
editThe management of GPPi consists of a group of directors and senior staff who are responsible for overseeing tasks such as personnel development, fundraising, and project development, while also pursuing their own thematic areas of interest. The leadership is supported by a volunteer executive committee led by Wolfgang Reinicke, one of the founders and president of GPPi[2].
Through its diverse research areas, its policy advice, and the promotion of public debates, GPPi actively contributes to solving global challenges and strives for effective and accountable solutions.
