The events include keynote speeches, presentations, and debates on topics such as drone warfare, whistleblowing, counter-surveillance, artistic and activist strategies in times of increased geopolitical control, as well as the impact of digital culture on everyday life and society.
Main Mission and Values
editThe main mission of the Disruption Network Lab is to strengthen freedom of expression and expose the misconduct and injustices of the powerful. By collaborating with whistleblowers, human rights activists, artists, hackers, journalists, and activists, the Lab aims to unveil systems of power and injustice and inform the public about critical issues.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editThe Disruption Network Lab is engaged in various initiatives to promote social justice and human rights. One example is the current conference series "Decoding Agency - 10 Years Disruption Network Lab," which focuses on how digital culture can enable social justice. This series includes conferences such as "BEYOND CONTROL," "MIGRATORY CURRENTS," and "INVESTIGATING THE KILL CLOUD," which introduce new methods for public awareness and action opportunities and aim to strengthen civil rights.
The Lab also supports humanitarian causes by highlighting the need for collective engagement to end conflicts and human rights violations in regions such as Gaza, Ukraine, and other war zones. It calls for immediate actions such as ceasefires, the release of hostages, and the protection of healthcare facilities and other critical infrastructures.
Support and Partnerships
editThe activities of the Disruption Network Lab are supported by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds (HKF) and other partners. This support enables the Lab to continue its events and research programs and to anchor its goals in the public and civil society.
The Disruption Network Lab is a vibrant example of commitment to social justice and human rights through the combination of science, art, activism, and technology. It makes an important contribution to uncovering injustices and strengthening civil rights in an increasingly complex and digitized world.
