CeMAS

The Center for Monitoring, Analysis and Strategy (CeMAS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the analysis and combating of conspiracy ideologies, disinformation, antisemitism, and right-wing extremism. With an interdisciplinary approach, CeMAS combines expertise from the fields of psychology, cognitive linguistics, social sciences, data science, and investigative journalism. This diversity enables systematic monitoring of current developments and the derivation of innovative analyses and recommendations for action.

The main mission of CeMAS is to empower society to actively counter conspiracy ideologies, disinformation, antisemitism, and right-wing extremism. In a time when digital and analog spheres are increasingly intertwined, CeMAS recognizes the need to identify and analyze anti-democratic tendencies at an early stage. The organization sees itself as an interface between science, journalism, and society, offering its analyses to various societal actors to constructively respond to the challenges of the present.

CeMAS aims to contribute to a better digital and analog world through its work. The vision "A Better Internet is Possible — a Better World is Necessary" emphasizes the commitment to develop strategies against ideological hatred and thus strengthen society. The organization is supported by the Alfred Landecker Foundation, highlighting the relevance and impact of its work.

CeMAS conducts systematic online monitoring and develops modern study designs to understand the impacts of disinformation and extremism. Among the projects is the "Digital Seismograph," which observes and analyzes current right-wing terrorist developments online. Another project, the "landecker re|con project," utilizes systematic monitoring to create innovative studies.

In addition to research, CeMAS offers consulting for decision-makers from civil society, media, and politics. These consulting services aim to strengthen the resilience of society against extremist and anti-democratic influences. The organization works closely with a scientific advisory board that ensures the quality and relevance of its work.

CeMAS is actively involved in uncovering and analyzing disinformation campaigns, such as the pro-Russian campaign "Doppelgänger," and provides insights into the threats posed by right-wing extremist networks. The organization is also engaged in political education and organizes expert days to promote exchange between experts and interested parties.
