The Center for the Transformation of Chemistry (CTC) is an ambitious research center dedicated to fundamentally changing the chemical industry. The goal is to transform the chemical industry into a circular economy based on renewable raw materials and recycling. This transformation is intended not only to reduce environmental pollution but also to create new economic prospects for the regions.

The main mission of the CTC is to make the chemical industry sustainable while promoting the economic development of the region. This is done through transdisciplinary partnerships between science, industry, and communities. The focus is on sustainability and social responsibility to ensure a better future for future generations.

The CTC focuses on the development of sustainable chemical products and processes that can be used in various industries such as healthcare, energy, fertilizers, and consumer goods. By transferring scientific knowledge into practice, a new standard for the chemical industry is to be set.

The headquarters of the CTC are located in Delitzsch and Merseburg, where a comprehensive research campus is being built. The CTC will employ up to 1000 employees and is part of a larger program for structural development in the former coal regions of Germany.
