The Caritas gGmbH St. Heinrich und Kunigunde was founded on January 1, 2019, as the sponsor for the fee-based facilities of the Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Bamberg e. V. With a team of over 1,700 dedicated employees, it is a significant employer in the region and offers a comprehensive range of social services.

• Nursing Facilities: The Caritas gGmbH operates 14 inpatient nursing facilities as well as an outpatient nursing service and three day care centers.
• Childcare and Educational Institutions: Its offerings include four childcare centers, a after-school care, and the Special Educational Center in Lichtenfels with eight facilities and two special education schools.
• Youth Welfare: A youth welfare facility with various locations completes the offering.

The Caritas gGmbH St. Heinrich und Kunigunde stands on a strong Christian foundation and is named after Emperor Heinrich and his wife Kunigunde. It represents Christian values and promotes respectful interaction with one another. The sole shareholder is the Caritas Association for the Archdiocese of Bamberg e. V.
