Process management is about analyzing, optimizing and controlling workflows within a company. Process managers identify inefficiencies, develop solutions for improvement, and implement new processes to increase productivity and quality. This includes both documentation and monitoring of processes as well as training employees to ensure that the new processes are understood and applied.
In Germany, the average salary for process managers is between 53,900 and 63,176 euros per year. The entry salary is about 35,737 to 46,400 euros per year. The salary ceiling can be up to 90,225 euros per year. With increasing years of work experience (e.g. 10 years) the salary rises to an average of 72,700 euros per year. Regional differences are also noticeable: in Augsburg the average salary is 551.736 euros, while in Berlin it is 64.736 euros.
Analytical thinking
A career in process management usually requires a degree in business engineering, business administration or a related field, and some positions also require additional qualifications, such as certificates in project management or process management methods (e.g. Lean or Six Sigma).
After a few years of experience, process managers can take on positions with more responsibility, such as leading projects or teams, and specialized roles such as process architects or consultants are also possible.
