xart splitta e.V. - A Description
editAbout Us
editxart splitta e.V. is a non-profit organization founded in 2012 that is committed to the areas of intersectionality, discrimination critique, (postcolonial) memory, decoloniality, empowerment, and (historical-)political education. Our goal is to analyze discriminatory structures and systems of inequality and to develop strategies for action and interventions against them.
Mission and Values
editOur work is based on an intersectional approach that particularly draws on Black Feminist Thought as well as post- and decolonial theories. We strive to promote and support empowerment processes for individuals and groups. Our mission includes the creation of an inclusive and just society in which all people can participate equally. We advocate for the visibility and participation of marginalized communities and work to combat racist, ableist, and sexist structures.
Products and Services
editxart splitta offers a variety of formats and services, including workshops, consultations, public discussion rounds, conferences, symposia, and art and cultural events. These events serve to convey theory and practice and aim to address and empower diverse target groups. Our activities range from political education to community organizing to artistic and cultural projects.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editA central aspect of our work is the promotion of sustainability and social justice. We are committed to barrier-free public relations and work on creating inclusive spaces that are accessible to all. Our projects, such as #CommunitiesSolidarischDenken, focus on the development of sustainable community work and the implementation of transformative justice and relationship work. We support grassroots political movements and organizations that fight against violent structures and mechanisms of oppression.
Team and Expertise
editOur team consists of experienced experts who work in various fields. Jul Kolberg, the managing project director, focuses on empowerment, disability, queerness, and intersectional issues. Other team members like Taye Naizghi and Thủy-Tiên Nguyễn work on projects that include anti-racism, gender, classism, and community work. Lann Hornscheidt, another team member, is known for her work in linguistics and gender studies and advocates for gender-neutral language.
Engagement and Network
editWe work trans- and interdisciplinary at the intersection of science, art, and political practice. Through our networks and partnerships with other organizations and initiatives, such as the Wikimedia Movement, we strengthen our position and achieve a broader impact. Our events and offerings aim to contribute to a better understanding and active engagement with the challenges of our time.
xart splitta e.V. is a dynamic and committed association that advocates for a fairer and more inclusive society. Through our diverse activities and projects, we contribute to ensuring that all people can raise their voices and assert their rights.
