
VERN e.V., founded in 1996, is dedicated to the conservation and recultivation of approximately 2,000 old useful plant varieties. The organization makes these varieties accessible to the public and preserves the associated knowledge of their cultivation and use. All seeds and plants offered originate from certified organic cultivation and are reproducible. VERN e.V. is also active in education, consulting, and political advocacy. Offerings include the "Compendium 2026" with over 300 organic seeds, the "Jungpflanzen-Aktion 2026" for rare young plants, educational courses, and show gardens. VERN e.V. received the Ursula-Hudson Preis 2026 from Slow Food for its work. Its headquarters are in Angermünde OT Greiffenberg, Germany.
