About UMKEHR e.V.
editUMKEHR e.V. is a dedicated information and consulting office that has represented the interests of pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users in Germany for over two decades. Our main goal is to promote sustainable mobility in local transport through close cooperation among all modes of transport in the so-called "environmental alliance." We advocate for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport to coexist harmoniously, thus making a significant contribution to reducing environmental impact.

editUMKEHR e.V. offers comprehensive information and consultations on topics related to sustainable mobility. We regularly publish the magazine "MobiLogisch!", which addresses current issues of energy efficiency and the role of various modes of transport in climate protection. In addition, we organize the Nationwide Environmental and Transport Congress (BUVKO), which serves as a platform for exchange between laypeople, practitioners, and scientists committed to environmentally friendly transport solutions.

Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editUMKEHR e.V. is actively committed to achieving climate goals by promoting cycling and walking as well as the use of public transport. We critically question the role of electric cars and e-fuels in climate protection and advocate for the development and implementation of climate adaptation concepts and heat plans that can sustainably improve transport. Our initiatives aim to optimize mobility in urban areas and create a pleasant urban climate.

UMKEHR e.V. offers various forms of action and participation procedures to influence local politics and promote sustainable changes. Through direct and indirect outreach to politicians, citizen initiatives, and petitions, we support the public in raising their voice for more environmentally friendly mobility.
UMKEHR e.V. is always looking for dedicated interns who want to work on projects like "Better Climate in Municipalities is Possible" and help co-organize the BUVKO. We offer hands-on experience in a dynamic environment dedicated to promoting sustainable mobility.
