GB infraVelo GmbH

GB infraVelo GmbH is a subsidiary of the state-owned Grün Berlin GmbH and was founded in 2017 on behalf of the Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection, and the Environment. Based in Berlin, in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district, infraVelo works closely with the Senate Department and the Berlin districts to improve and expand the cycling infrastructure in the city.

infraVelo offers a wide range of expertise, including:

• Project Management and Construction Management: infraVelo takes over the planning, construction, and maintenance of bike paths, bicycle parking facilities, and other cycling infrastructures.
• Traffic Planning and Engineering Services: The company develops and implements technical and administrative solutions for the expansion of the cycling network in Berlin.
• Communication and Project Management: infraVelo coordinates the dialogue with the districts, administrations, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and transparent implementation of the projects[2][4][5].

Our mission is to make Berlin more livable by strengthening environmental transport and achieving a new balance between cyclists, pedestrians, and users of public transport (ÖPNV). We are committed to sustainable urban mobility and work interdisciplinary in teams with different expertise and talents. Our belief: Through collaboration and innovative solutions, we can drive the mobility transition in Berlin forward[5].

infraVelo is strongly committed to promoting sustainable mobility:

• Expansion of Cycling Networks: We develop and build fast cycling connections, long-distance cycling paths, and bicycle parking facilities to create safe and convenient bike paths for all users.
• Climate-Friendly Transport Solutions: Our projects are aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and promoting environmentally friendly modes of transport.
• Digital Solutions: We use databases and digital tools to optimize and make transparent the planning, construction, and maintenance of cycling infrastructure[4].

• Bicycle Parking Garages and Facilities: infraVelo is constructing bicycle parking garages and facilities, such as at Schöneweide Station, to provide safe and comfortable parking options for bicycles.
• Bicycle Path Signage and Maintenance: We clean and repair bicycle path signs and install lights along the bike paths to enhance safety and convenience.
• District Steering Rounds: Regular steering rounds with the districts ensure continuous dialogue and maximum transparency in the projects[4].

infraVelo works closely with various administrations, districts, and organizations to achieve the goals of the mobility transition. Our efforts were recognized in 2023 with a nomination for the German Sustainability Award in the category "Pioneers of Transformation"[4].
