editThe Stiftung Berliner Leben, founded in 2013 by Gewobag AG, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting art, culture, youth and elderly assistance, as well as sports in the Berlin neighborhoods. With the aim of strengthening neighborhood structures and promoting social balance and integration in the city, the foundation focuses on a variety of projects that place education, integration, and culture at the center.
Key Projects and Services
editAmong the outstanding initiatives of the foundation are the URBAN NATION Museum, which is dedicated to urban art, and the Martha Cooper Library, which offers an extensive collection of graffiti and street art literature. The Fresh A.I.R. program enables artists from Europe to develop their artistic skills in Berlin. Other projects such as the HipHopHub, Abenteuer Oper! and Wir aktiv. Boxsport & more promote cultural education and sports activities for children and young people. The Stadtraum!Plus program supports social neighborhood development and was recently expanded to the Heerstraße Nord neighborhood in Staaken.
