Foundation SeeYou: Strong for Families
editThe Foundation SeeYou, established in 2004 at the Catholic Children's Hospital Wilhelmstift in Hamburg, is dedicated to supporting families with severely or chronically ill children as well as those with high psychosocial burdens. The name "SeeYou" symbolizes the comprehensive care and support that the organization provides, and literally means "We see each other" and "We care for you".
Key Products and Services
edit- Social Medical Follow-Up Care: The multidisciplinary team from SeeYou supports families in dealing with their children's illnesses and in implementing treatment recommendations, especially after inpatient stays, based on the model of the "Bunter Kreis"[1][2][3].
- Baby Pilot Program: Launched in 2007, this program aims to identify families with psychosocial burdens early and to "navigate" them to appropriate, local support services. It includes a comprehensive consulting and training offer for maternity hospitals, medical practices, youth welfare agencies, and municipalities throughout Germany[1][2][3].
Main Mission and Values
editThe main mission of the Foundation SeeYou is to improve the situation of chronically and severely ill children, adolescents, and their families, to alleviate their distress, and to establish preventive and rehabilitative support. This is done with consideration for the welfare of the child and data protection. The foundation promotes holistic care and support for patients and their families, even in times of modern high-tech medicine[1].
The values of SeeYou are based on openness, transparency, appreciation, responsibility, and participation. The interdisciplinary team is committed to lifelong learning, self-efficacy, and quality development[1].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editSeeYou is committed to a sustainable, effective, and efficient use of the resources of the social and health system. The development, adherence to, and transparency of quality standards and results are central to the foundation's work. Through long-term, innovative, and scientifically evaluated support measures in collaboration with partners and sponsors, the sustainability of the projects is ensured[1].
The Baby Pilot Program has established itself throughout Germany, with over 71 maternity hospitals and 32 medical practices working according to this model. It aims to recognize psychosocial support needs early and to provide corresponding assistance to promote healthy growing conditions for all children[1][2][3].
Additional Initiatives
editSeeYou also offers special support for families in which children and adolescents have passed away, and promotes networking between various interest groups to create synergies for supporting families. Through regular intervision meetings and close collaboration with other institutions, such as the Charité in Berlin, the effectiveness of Early Help is continuously improved[1][3].
The Foundation SeeYou represents a commitment to society that is based on long-term support and sustainable development to help families in need and strengthen child protection.
