About Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners
editThe Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners e.V. have been committed since 1976 to promoting Waldorf education worldwide and support Waldorf schools, kindergartens, as well as therapeutic educational institutions and social projects. As a non-profit organization based in Karlsruhe and Berlin, they advocate for a free, development-oriented, and diverse society. The organization is known for its comprehensive volunteer services, which are completed by around 1,800 young people each year both domestically and abroad. These programs, including the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) and the Federal Volunteer Service (BFD), promote intercultural exchange and strengthen the global Waldorf and therapeutic educational movement.
A central component of the work of the Freunde is emergency pedagogy, which has been active in crisis and disaster areas worldwide since 2006. This initiative provides support to traumatized children and adolescents through stabilizing measures based on Waldorf education to help them process traumatic experiences. The Freunde der Erziehungskunst are also a partner organization of the action alliance "Aktion Deutschland Hilft".
The mission of the Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners is to improve education and care for children and adolescents worldwide while respecting the cultural, ethnic, and religious traditions of the respective countries. They promote universal humanity and the inviolable dignity of each individual. The organization places great importance on reflecting and adapting its working practices to align with its own values and principles.
Sustainability is another important aspect of the work of the Freunde. They advocate for social justice and the promotion of educational opportunities, regardless of social background or abilities. Through their programs and initiatives, they contribute to creating a fairer and more sustainable world.
The Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners are registered as a non-profit organization in the Stuttgart register of associations and are exempt from corporate and trade tax, as they serve exclusively and directly charitable and non-profit purposes. All donations are forwarded 100% to the supported projects, which underscores the transparency and integrity of the organization.
Through their work, the Freunde der Erziehungskunst make a significant contribution to promoting Waldorf education and supporting communities worldwide by viewing education as the key to a better future.
