With 59 member organizations in 32 countries, Eurodiaconia represents the needs and unique experiences of national and regional organizations dedicated to supporting people in need. The term "Diakonia" comes from Greek and means in a biblical sense "service for and with people in need."
Mission and Vision
editThe mission of Eurodiaconia is to provide social and health services as a network of churches and Christian organizations and to fight for social justice. Together, we work for a just and transformative social change across Europe, leaving no one behind. Our vision, inspired by our Christian faith, is a Europe where every person is valued for their God-given worth and dignity, and our societies guarantee social justice for all people, including the most vulnerable and marginalized.
Key Products and Services
editEurodiaconia offers a wide range of social and health services focused on combating poverty and social exclusion. These include programs for the integration of Roma, combating extreme poverty, promoting employment and active inclusion, and supporting migrants, youth, and children. Additionally, Eurodiaconia is committed to providing health and care services, including healthy aging and long-term care, as well as developing social and economic policies that promote social investments.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives

A particular focus is on promoting the integration of women from third countries into the labor market and supporting diaconal organizations in crisis prevention and management.
Current Initiatives
editEurodiaconia recently published a manifesto for the 2024 European Parliament elections, calling on candidates to create a truly social Europe. The organization has also participated in the European Social Work Conference and welcomed new members such as Fida International from Finland and the Khachmeruk Educational Consulting Center from Armenia. Eurodiaconia remains active in supporting initiatives to combat poverty and promote social justice across Europe.
