Founded in 1962 as a registered association, the organization promotes cultural exchange and education, particularly within the transatlantic dialogue. With 31 employees, it offers a diverse program ranging from literary and scientific events to a language school and an International Kindergarten & School. It also hosts the only public English-language library in the Rhine-Neckar region. The institute is committed to democratic values and quality education, reflected in its primary focus on SDG 4.
