Managing Director (m/f/d) for Global Goals for Berlin eV

(20 to 40 hours/week)

Global Goals for Berlin eV is a non-profit association of committed citizens, entrepreneurs and interested parties who share a grand vision:

We aim to implement the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Berlin by 2035 to protect ourselves from the looming ecological and, consequently, economic collapse of the planet. We want to see climate neutrality achieved just as we do all the other UN sustainability goals. Not against each other, but together – ecology and economy are not contradictory, but essentially interdependent. We want to act and implement these goals now.

We want to present the new and sustainable Berlin to the world as part of the EXPO World Exposition 2035 in Berlin.

For this ambitious goal, we are looking for an outstanding personality who will play a key role in this movement with courage, passion and competence.

As Managing Director (m/f/d), you are the central point of contact. You are equally comfortable with broad campaign work and targeted outreach to decision-makers. You are a pioneer and enjoy building structures, processes, and securing funding. You work in a structured, inclusive, and results-oriented manner.

Your tasks:

Establishing sustainable organizational structures for the association. This includes, among other things, work processes, guidelines, and decision-making processes.
Selection and management of suitable and qualified employees and external service providers
Creating a work program for the association's activities in an iterative and participatory process, in close consultation with the board.
Implementation of the work program, also with external service providers
Fundraising in coordination and cooperation with the board
Setting up a suitable accounting system for the association, accounting and management by the tax advisor.
Member recruitment and member management
Network maintenance
Lobbying for our goals in the state of Berlin, at the federal level and in the Berlin districts

You bring:

at least six years of management experience, preferably in a non-profit institution
Knowledge of non-profit and association law
proven budget responsibility and accounting knowledge
Strong communication skills and experience in leading campaigns
Strong vision and proven strategic skills
Knowledge of participatory, innovative and impact-oriented project development, management and evaluation
Experience in applying for and accounting for public funds and foundations
Enthusiasm for the goals and visions of the club
an unconditional commitment to ethical business practices, inclusive leadership of employees, service providers and the network, and participatory working methods.

Initially, the position is for two months. During this time, further fundraising activities will be carried out in collaboration with the board. We are confident that we will be able to offer continued employment afterwards.
