The Walter Blüchert Stiftung is a legally capable foundation under civil law with a foundation capital of 200 million euros. The foundation is based in Hamburg, while the operational work began at the administrative headquarters in Gütersloh in autumn 2012. The board, led by Gunter Thielen and his deputy Ingrid Kramer, is responsible for the development of statutory projects and their financing. The foundation council, consisting of Reto Mengiardi, supervises the board's activities.
