The VAMV State Association Berlin is the competent and dedicated representation of interests for single-parent families in the capital. As part of the Federal Association of Single Mothers and Fathers e.V., which has been active since 1967, we support separated parents in Berlin in taking control of their lives as single parents with confidence.

• Consultation and Information: We offer comprehensive consultation and information on topics that are specifically relevant to single mothers and fathers, such as childcare, labor market, tax, and family policy.
• Community and Network: Regular meetings like the VAMV Café and special events, e.g., the series on separation, facilitate exchange and networking among single-parent families.
• Workshops and Courses: Offerings such as Intuitive Writing or specific workshops on separation and child-rearing support the personal and emotional development of the members.
• Political Representation: We advocate for the interests of single-parent families at the state and federal level to create improved social and political conditions.

The main mission of VAMV Berlin is the appreciation, recognition, and promotion of single parents and their children as an equal family form. Our values are based on the principle of self-help and the promotion of equal opportunities for all children. We strive for a society in which single parents can spend sufficient time with their children without existential worries and where gender equality is promoted from the very beginning.

• Child Basic Security: We demand an independent child basic security to enable all children to participate equally in social life.
• Flexible Childcare: Expanding flexible childcare options is one of our central goals to make it easier for single parents to reconcile family and work.
• Labor Market, Tax, and Family Policy: We are working to optimize these policy areas to meet the needs of single-parent families.
• Housing and Social Justice: We advocate for sufficient affordable housing and the abolition of enforcement measures for visitation rights to improve the living situation of single-parent families.
• International Networking: Through membership in networks such as the European Network for Single-Parent Families (ENoS) and the European Anti Poverty Network (EAPN), we work across national borders for the rights and needs of single-parent families.

The VAMV Berlin offers a diverse platform for exchange, networking, and engagement of single-parent families. Through regular events and workshops, we create a community where single parents can support and empower each other. Our work is based on the long-standing experience and expertise of our members, who advocate for the interests of single-parent families at the federal, state, and local levels.
