Sinn-Stifter
Sinn-Stifter is a donation-supported association that supports social projects in Austria. Founded by six foundations, it promotes innovative initiatives and advocates for a positive perception of foundations. The goal is to create sustainable solutions for societal challenges.
About Sinn-Stifter
editSinn-Stifter is a donation-privileged association founded in 2010 by six Austrian foundations to support social projects in Austria. The founding foundations include the ESSL Foundation, the ERSTE Stiftung, the HUMER Privatstiftung, the KATHARINA TURNAUER Privatstiftung, the SCHWEIGHOFER Privatstiftung, and the UNRUHE Privatstiftung. Over the years, additional foundations have joined the network, including the ANDRA Privatstiftung, the DREYER Charity Fund, the HIL Foundation, the PEOPLESHARE Privatstiftung, and the SCHEUCH Family Foundation.
Mission and Values
editThe main mission of Sinn-Stifter is to support or initiate social initiatives and innovations. The association not only uses financial resources, but the founders and foundation representatives also engage personally with their expertise and networks. The goal is to promote projects that can serve as exemplary solutions, grow, and encourage many people to participate. Sinn-Stifter aims to improve the negative image of foundations in Austria by showing that many people do good and want to do good through foundations.
Key Products and Services
editSinn-Stifter supports projects that are innovative and scalable. These projects are intended to motivate other people and organizations to get involved. The association distinguishes between projects that are directly supported through financial assistance and those that are supported by individual members of the network. Directly supported projects include the redistribution of funds to other donation-privileged institutions and the financial support of projects with charitable goals. Individual foundations also independently promote certain projects to multiply synergies within the network.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editSinn-Stifter is committed to promoting projects that can be taken over by the public sector in the long term. The association sees collaboration between the private and public sectors as crucial for the well-being of society. An example of a sustainable project is the Sinnbildungsstiftung, which was founded in 2019 to promote innovative educational projects and sustainably improve the quality and opportunities of education.
Projects and Initiatives
editCurrent projects include "Mentoring Austria," an initiative to strengthen mentoring for young people. Other significant projects are the "Sinnbildungsstiftung" and "Bildünger," which provide platforms for the exchange and further development of education. Previous projects include "Discovering Hands," which trains blind women as Medical Tactile Examiners, and "MTOP," which connects companies and refugees in the labor market.
Sinn-Stifter is an outstanding example of the positive impact of foundations in society. By promoting social innovations and supporting projects that have the potential to be taken over by the public sector, the association significantly contributes to improving the social landscape in Austria.
