Renovabis e.V.

Renovabis is a registered association and a relief organization of the Roman Catholic Church in Germany. Founded in 1993, it is the solidarity action of German Catholics with the people in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe. The name "Renovabis" refers to Psalm 104:30: "You will renew the face of the earth."

The main mission of Renovabis is to support pastoral, social, and community projects in the formerly socialist countries. The principle of "help for self-help" is at the center of this. Renovabis promotes self-responsibility and qualification of the project sponsors to enable sustainable developments. The organization also advocates for dialogue and exchange between East and West.

Renovabis supports a variety of projects, including:

• Church-Pastoral Projects: Construction and equipping of churches and community centers.
• Social Projects: Support for family, women's, and youth centers as well as homes for orphaned and street children.
• Educational Projects: Promotion of church school programs, teacher training, and scholarships.
• Media Projects: Support for journalistic youth development and media initiatives.

Renovabis places great importance on ensuring that the supported projects are sustainable and do not create new dependencies. The organization requires regular reports on the use of funds and gathers information on-site about project development. By promoting East-West partnerships, dialogue and exchange of experiences are encouraged.

Since its founding, Renovabis has supported around 24,800 projects in 29 countries of Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe with a total volume of over 795 million euros. The income comes from church budget funds, donations, and public funds. Renovabis carries the DZI donation seal, which underscores its transparency and trustworthiness.

The headquarters of Renovabis is located in Freising, Bavaria. The organization has a clear structure with a board, a supervisory board, and a general assembly. The management oversees daily activities and is responsible for the implementation of projects and initiatives. Renovabis is recognized as a non-profit organization and is committed to promoting solidarity and dialogue in Europe.
