About Landesjugendring Hamburg e.V.
editThe Landesjugendring Hamburg e.V. is an association of youth organizations and working groups at the state level, dedicated to promoting the self-determined, creative, and communal actions of children and young people in Hamburg. With over 20 member organizations, three associated organizations, and more than 200,000 actively engaged young people, the Landesjugendring represents the interests of young people in the public sphere. This includes communication with the Senate, the Bürgerschaft, political parties, as well as district assemblies and authorities.
The main mission of the Landesjugendring is to promote the democratic self-determination of children and young people and to influence the development of youth policy as well as the financial and legal framework conditions. This is done through statements on youth, education, and social policy issues and by organizing activities that support the participation and integration of young people.
A central offering of the Landesjugendring is the alternative city tours, which have been successfully conducted since 1978. These tours lead to historical sites of persecution and resistance during National Socialism and provide a valuable educational resource. In addition, the Landesjugendring offers courses for training youth leaders, preparing young people for their role as responsible leaders.
The Landesjugendring is also active in publishing and releases the magazine "punktum," which appears quarterly and critically reports on the living environment of young people in Hamburg as well as the activities of youth organizations. This publication reaches multipliers and young people in the organizations as well as all relevant organizations in Hamburg.
Sustainability and social responsibility are central values of the Landesjugendring. It promotes the voluntary engagement of young people as a basis for a social and democratic society. The Landesjugendring also offers free use of meeting rooms in the House for Youth Organizations to support the work of youth organizations.
The website of the Landesjugendring, www.ljr-hh.de, serves as a comprehensive portal for organizational youth work in Hamburg. It provides current information about the Hamburg youth organizations, youth policy, and the activities of the Landesjugendring. The service section includes materials for youth organization work, legal and funding issues, as well as background information.
The Landesjugendring Hamburg e.V. is committed to the concerns of young people with a focus on participation, integration, and extracurricular education, combining advocacy for social and political issues with practical work to achieve its goals.
