JungLesben*Zentrum Hamburg

The JungLesben*Zentrum Hamburg (JuLe*) is a unique place for young people up to 25 years old who define themselves as female and/or belong to the lesbian* community. It not only provides a safe space for social interaction but also serves as an educational institution for lesbian-feminist work with girls. The center is a point of contact for young LBTIs, parents, friends, and relatives seeking support in developing their own sexual and gender identity, dealing with relationship and family issues, or finding a career.

The JuLe* pursues the mission of creating a space where young people can freely explore their identity without prejudice. The feminist approach is a central component of the center's work. In a society where traditional gender roles are increasingly questioned, the JuLe* is committed to breaking down outdated stereotypes and helping visitors strengthen their self-confidence. Respect, inclusion, and mutual support are the cornerstones of the community at JuLe*.

The center offers a variety of services, including educational counseling, open meetings, and workshops. These activities promote exchange and self-determination among participants. A special highlight is the lesbian superhero* card game, which is available for a donation and celebrates the diversity and strength of the community.

The JuLe* is committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive space that continuously evolves. The principles of mindfulness and respect for the personal boundaries of all visitors are firmly embedded in the center's rules. These rules promote a culture of openness and learning, where mistakes are seen as opportunities for growth.

In 2015, the JungLesben*Zentrum was awarded the "With And For Girls Award" by the Star Foundation. This global recognition honors the center's exceptional commitment to work with girls and highlights that participants are actively involved in shaping the projects. As the only German and explicitly lesbian organization to receive this award, the JuLe* sends a strong signal for the visibility and recognition of lesbian projects.

The JuLe* is a vibrant space that constantly changes and adapts to the needs of its visitors. New visitors are always welcome and encouraged to actively participate. The community at JuLe* is based on respect, openness, and the willingness to communicate and learn from one another. The center's rules promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere where all visitors can feel safe and accepted.
