About Institut Solidarische Moderne
editThe Institut Solidarische Moderne (ISM) is an innovative think tank and platform dedicated to the development of solidarity-based political concepts. Founded in January 2010, the ISM emerged from the cross-party recognition of the programmatic and strategic deficits of the political and social left in Germany and Europe. The goal of the institute is to overcome these weaknesses and shape a solidarity-based society of tomorrow.
Key Products and Services
editThe ISM develops its concepts in dialogue with parties, movements, trade unions, civil society, and academia. This interdisciplinary collaboration, which the ISM refers to as "Crossover," aims to overcome boundaries between societal sectors and work together on progressive ideas. The institute provides a platform for the exchange and discussion of solidarity-based political concepts through workshops, digital forums, and conferences.
Mission and Values
editThe main mission of the ISM is to promote a socio-ecological transformation based on the fundamental values of freedom, equality, justice, and solidarity. The ISM strives to create a comprehensive societal alternative that enhances the strategic capacity of the political left and offers a real power option for leftist politics. In doing so, the institute places great importance on the promotion of democracy, human rights, and an open society.
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editThe ISM is actively committed to a sustainable future by developing concepts for an ecological economy based on renewable resources and avoiding social costs of climate and environmental damage. The institute advocates for a just world where no one lives at the expense of others and conflicts are resolved peacefully. It promotes the transformation to an ecologically renewable resource base and aims for qualitative development that avoids social upheavals.
Relevant Initiatives
editThe ISM is also active in defending human rights and democracy. It supports petitions and initiatives that oppose populist debates and the tightening of asylum laws. Additionally, the institute promotes new forms of work and the reduction of working hours as part of a long-term transformation project.
The Institut Solidarische Moderne is a place of exchange and innovation dedicated to creating a solidarity-based and sustainable society. It invites everyone who wants to contribute to shaping the Solidarity Modern to become part of this movement.
