IBIS – INTERKULTURELLE ARBEITSSTELLE FÜR FORSCHUNG, DOKUMENTATION, BILDUNG UND FÜR BERATUNG E.V.

IBIS e.V., founded in 1994 in Oldenburg, is a human rights organization that is unconditionally committed to the peaceful coexistence of people from all backgrounds. The association aims to promote democratic coexistence, solidarity, and social justice.

The work of IBIS e.V. is based on human rights and the principle of equal participation for all people, regardless of their individual differences and similarities. The association firmly opposes any form of discrimination and is committed to realizing the right to asylum, the inviolability of human dignity, protection against discrimination, the reduction of social inequality, the right to education, and the political participation of disadvantaged groups[2][3][4].

IBIS e.V. offers a variety of services and programs to achieve its goals:

• Educational and Counseling Services: These include German courses, learning support for children and adolescents, as well as general educational and counseling services to promote participation and reduce disadvantages.
• Consultation and Support in the Field of Refugees, Migration, and Asylum: This includes migration and asylum procedure counseling as well as psychosocial support.
• Political Education and Promotion of Intercultural Encounters: The association organizes events in the fields of culture and political education to promote intercultural encounters.
• Reduction of Discrimination and Fight Against Racism and Right-Wing Extremism: IBIS e.V. offers argumentation training to empower people in racist or discriminatory situations and to promote civil courage[2][3][4].

IBIS e.V. has two non-profit subsidiaries:

• IBIS – Akademie gGmbH: Offers German courses in Oldenburg and the Friesland district.
• IBIS – Participation for Young People gGmbH: Organizes learning support for children and adolescents in Oldenburg and the surrounding area[2].

IBIS e.V. places great importance on sustainability and climate neutrality. The impacts on climate and the environment are considered in all projects and initiatives, and sustainable practices are employed to achieve climate neutrality. This is also reflected in the donations, which are used, for example, for argumentation training against right-wing extremism and racism[4].

Through its comprehensive activities and commitment, IBIS e.V. sets important impulses for a fairer and more inclusive society and makes a significant contribution to the peaceful coexistence of people from all backgrounds.
