
The Global Young Academy (GYA), founded in 2009, is an international organization dedicated to empowering and connecting young scientists and scholars globally. It provides a platform for early- to mid-career researchers to address critical global issues, advocate for science, and contribute to society through initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The GYA is an independent science academy with 200 members from 101 countries and an administrative office in Halle (Saale), Germany. It employs between 51 and 100 staff members and fosters a wide international network.
