The DGB-Bezirk Berlin-Brandenburg is the umbrella organization of the member unions of the Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB) for the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg. It represents the interests of approximately 350,000 union members and acts as the political voice of its eight member unions at the state level.

The DGB-Bezirk Berlin-Brandenburg does not offer direct products, but focuses on representing union interests. Its main tasks include political advocacy, coordination of social security, and participation in chambers and courts. In addition, it organizes events and conferences, such as the Lausitz Conference, to discuss topics such as structural change and transformation.

The DGB is politically neutral and open to all employees, regardless of their political or religious beliefs. Especially in the Lausitz region, it is committed to a structural change that should develop the region into a Net Zero Valley. It also emphasizes the importance of further education and qualification to secure the economic and social future of the region. The DGB supports initiatives for regional health care and the development of new industries to promote economic diversification.

Currently, the DGB-Bezirk Berlin-Brandenburg is active in organizing events such as the Lausitz Conference to respond to the challenges of structural change. The conference addresses topics such as security in change and the need for investment in the region. The DGB is also committed to using short-time work for further training in order to strengthen the region's innovative strength.

The DGB-Bezirk Berlin-Brandenburg is headed by Katja Karger, who has held the position of district chairwoman since January 2022. The organization works closely with other regional and national trade union associations to achieve its goals.
