This broad spectrum allows for the provision of integrated solutions for waste management and recycling that are tailored to the specific needs of different countries and regions[2][4][5].
Main Mission and Values
editThe main mission of RETech is to improve the export conditions for German companies in the recycling and waste management sector and to strengthen their competitiveness. RETech promotes the transfer of know-how and the establishment of a network of ministries, subordinate authorities, scientific institutions, and associations to support the export of German recycling and waste management technologies. Another focus is on the development and elevation of international waste management standards, particularly in developing and emerging countries[2][4][5].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editRETech is committed to promoting sustainable and innovative recycling and efficiency technologies. By supporting the international application of sustainable environmental technologies and sustainable environmental management, RETech makes an important contribution to climate and environmental protection. The initiative focuses on establishing organized waste management worldwide and promoting the marketing of German GreenTech companies abroad[2][3][4].
Current Activities and Events
editRETech is active in various international projects and events. Examples include the successful workshop in Kuala Lumpur on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV), participation in the Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change (QNDCC) 2024, and the organization of a German Pavilion at the Waste Expo Las Vegas 2025. In addition, RETech regularly hosts conferences and working group meetings to promote knowledge exchange and networking among stakeholders in the circular economy[3][5].
Network and Support
editThe work of RETech is supported by an advisory board that includes representatives from various federal ministries (BMUV, BMBF, BMWi, BMZ), the Federal Environment Agency (UBA), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), KfW, Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI), as well as various industry associations (BDE, bvse, VKU, VAK, VDMA).
