Der Kinderschutzbund Frankfurt - A Commitment to Children's Rights and Child Protection

    About Us

Der Kinderschutzbund Frankfurt, founded in 1954, is a district association of the German Child Protection Association e.V. and has established itself as one of the largest and most active child protection associations in Germany. With around 50,000 individual members, 16 state associations, and over 430 local associations, the Child Protection Association works politically neutral and interdenominationally for the rights, needs, and interests of all children.

    Mission and Values

Our main mission is to promote the protection of children from violence, combat child poverty, and implement children's rights in Germany. We see ourselves as a lobby for children and advocate that every decision, planning, and measure affecting children and adolescents includes their participation. Our goal is a child-friendly society in which the mental, psychological, social, and physical development of children and adolescents is promoted.

    Key Products and Services

    • Specialized Counseling Center for Violence: Our specialized counseling center on Comeniusstraße offers counseling and therapy services for children and adolescents affected by sexual, physical, or psychological violence. Parents and professionals can find advice and help in problematic situations here.
    • Youth Legal Counseling: Specifically for young people under 20 years, we offer youth legal counseling to clarify legal questions and issues.
    • Parent Courses "Strong Parents – Strong Children": These courses promote the parenting skills of parents and support them in managing everyday life more confidently and calmly.

    • Baby Guide: This early assistance program supports families in Frankfurt's maternity clinics and offers counseling and help around the time of birth.
    • Parent-Child Meetings: Open meetings for parents with their children under three years, where parents can exchange and inform themselves while the children play together.
    • Family Networks in the Neighborhood: Volunteer mentors visit newborns and their parents in the neighborhoods to provide support and welcome greetings.
    • Volunteer Individual Guardianships: We support the youth welfare office and family court in recruiting, training, and accompanying volunteer individual guardians, especially for unaccompanied minor refugees.
