Position Summary:

Secondary School Library Assistant

Responsibilities:

● Manage the physical space of the Secondary Library ● Supervise Secondary School Students to maintain a quiet and productive environment. ● Maintain SSL collection of materials, including wear and tear and replacing lost copies ● Assist all patrons with their needs which include book recommendations and technology assistance ● Assist secondary students with printing, copier -related issues and other tasks on our library computers such as searching for resources ● Promote the libraries through bulletin boards and other mediums ● Maintain library accounts of patrons and manage lists of overdue/lost materials ● Manage the processing of all SSL library materials ● Work with the Head of Learning Resources to curate the academic and fiction materials, including the requests of staff/students ● Work with the Head of Learning Resources to inventory the SSL on a yearly basis ● Follows and acts in accordance with ISH disciplinary and child safeguarding protocol

Qualifications :

Applicants must have professional experience in the field of learning resources; a degree in library science or a comparable degree in the field of learning resources or media and information services is preferred.

IT skills and experience in working in a secondary school setting are necessary. Language proficiency in English and German is advantageous.

Terms of Employment:

• Starting date is 1 August 202 6 • The position is initially limited until 31 July 202 8, with an option for a permanent position thereafter • The position is a full -time position • TA Scale
