As a web designer, you create and design visual concepts for digital media. This includes creating layouts for websites, developing user-friendly interfaces and ensuring an appealing user experience. Web designers work closely with developers to ensure that their designs are technically feasible and look good on different devices.
To become a web designer, we recommend training in media design, graphic design or a comparable qualification. Many web designers have also completed a degree in computer science, media design or a related field. Practical experience through internships or own projects is also an advantage.
Web designers have a variety of career opportunities. After a few years of professional experience, they can develop further as a senior web designer, art director or UX/UI designer. It is also possible to become self-employed or set up a web design agency. Due to the constant development in the digital sector, there are also many opportunities for specialization, e.g. in mobile design or e-commerce.
