Job Overview

ISR is accredited by the German authorities as an ‘Anerkannte Internationale Ergänzungsschule’ (International Supplementary School) and by the US accrediting agency Cognia (formerly known as AdvancED). ISR is an IB World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme, and also offers Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) IGCSE courses. The school is a certified member of the Council of International Schools (CIS).

We wish to hire a dedicated and qualified Teacher of Biology (m/f/d) with experience in teaching Secondary School to join our dynamic educational institution full-time.

The teacher will be expected to create and deliver engaging Biology lessons that captivate students' interest and foster a deep understanding of scientific concepts and inquiry skills. This encompasses not only conveying theoretical knowledge but also applying innovative, hands-on and inquiry-based teaching methodologies to cultivate critical thinking skills and real-world applicability.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the high quality of teaching and learning of all students in the Secondary School Science and the IGCSE and IB Curriculum
• Be responsible for student progress, welfare and outcomes
• Engage students in positive learning relationships
• Have an up to date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers
• Take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, especially concerning safeguarding and equal opportunities

Qualifications & Experience:

• A formal teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGdip, BEd, MEd, Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
• Knowledge of Sports & Environmental Science of great advantage
• Experience with Middle and Upper School Science is required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Experience of the IGCSE
• IB MYP/DP is advantageous.
• Experience of working in an international school is desired.
• Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.

The ISR Summer School offers students from Kindergarten (3 years old and above) to 8th grade the opportunity to participate in something unique and exciting! Our summer school students learn in a fun yet stimulating environment, with lots of games that improve their academic and language skills during the Summer holidays. All language levels are welcome.
