Generation-D: Promotion of Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Development
editAbout Us
editGeneration-D is a social entrepreneurship competition initiated by scholars of the Bavarian Elite Academy. Our mission is to support entrepreneurial ideas in the early stages of their development to realize the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
Key Products and Services
edit- Financial Support: Winning teams receive project-specific prize money based on the justified need for the implementation of their project. In the past, amounts between 1,500 and 7,500 euros per team have been awarded[3].
- Consulting & Mentoring: Each winning team gains access to mentors and coaching through our partners, such as the Social Entrepreneurship Academy[3].
- Publicity & Reporting: We make the compelling ideas of the participants known to reach a broad audience and make the social startup visible[3].
- Pitch to Politics & Business: Final teams have the opportunity to present their ideas to leaders from politics and business to receive valuable feedback and access to their networks[3].
Main Mission and Values
editOur main mission is to support and promote young social entrepreneurs to create long-term and self-sustaining value for society. We place great importance on empowering young people in Germany and realizing the sustainable development goals of the UN. Our values include innovation, sustainability, scalability, and social impact[4].
Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
editGeneration-D focuses on promoting projects that creatively and innovatively address current challenges and contribute to the UN's sustainable development goals. Examples of successful projects include the production of climate-positive building materials (HopfON), the restoration of degraded soils (RecyCoal), and the revolution of catering management in hospitals (HospiChef)[4].
Application Process and Support
editThe application process is divided into three phases: an initial round where we get to know the candidates and their ideas, a second round with detailed pitch decks and business models, and a third round with personal interviews. Each phase offers the opportunity to refine the ideas and business models and maximize impact[3].
Network and Partnerships
editWe work closely with various partners, such as the Social Entrepreneurship Academy and companies like Brainlab, to provide participants with comprehensive support and access to valuable networks[1][4].
Generation-D is more than just a competition – it is a platform that supports young social entrepreneurs on their journey to realize their visionary ideas and advance sustainable development.
