editThe Housing Cooperative Sigmund Schuckert eG, founded in 1896, is Nuremberg's oldest and largest housing cooperative. It was originally established as "Bauverein Schuckert’scher Arbeiter" to create affordable housing for workers. Today, it has more than 3,000 apartments and around 4,000 members.
