Violence Prevention Network gGmbH is a non-profit organization based in Berlin that has been successfully engaged in the prevention of extremism as well as in deradicalization and distancing work for two decades. The network has developed internationally recognized expertise in dealing with ideologically motivated offenders by working with individuals threatened by right-wing extremist and Islamist ideologies.

The main mission of Violence Prevention Network is to lead ideologically vulnerable individuals and violent offenders motivated by extremism to a self-determined life through deradicalization work and to reintegrate them into the democratic community. The organization is committed to ensuring that radicalized individuals can reflect on and overcome their previous behavior patterns in order to lead a life in which they do not harm themselves or others. A central value is the promotion of dialogue and understanding to reach individuals who are still open to these approaches.

Sustainability Goals and Initiatives

Violence Prevention Network aims to establish long-term and sustainable structures for quality assurance in extremism prevention. Projects like "PrEval" aim to permanently improve the quality and effectiveness of preventive measures in Germany. In addition, the organization is involved in international networks such as the "International Network for Disengagement and Exit" (INDEX) to promote the global exchange of knowledge and skills in the field of extremism prevention.

Current Projects

Current projects include "CROSSROADS," which focuses on the prevention and deradicalization of youth in the area of right-wing extremism, and "Fighting Terrorist Content Online" (FRISCO), which supports small and medium hosting service providers in detecting and removing terrorist content. Another significant project is "Gaming and Right-Wing Extremism," which develops an e-learning platform to inform about right-wing extremist developments in the gaming scene.

Violence Prevention Network is a pioneer in extremism prevention and deradicalization and tirelessly advocates for a more peaceful and inclusive society. With a dedicated team of over 150 employees, the organization works to prevent extremist violence and help individuals lead lives in peace and respect.
