editThe Vereinigung für ökologische Wirtschaftsforschung (VÖW) is an inter- and transdisciplinary network that was founded in 1985 by Reinhard Pfriem and numerous supporters. As a non-profit association, the VÖW focuses on issues of sustainable development and its practical implementation.

editThe VÖW advocates for the ecological transformation of the economy and the development of a transdisciplinary sustainability science. The focus is on sustainable economic practices and the contributions that businesses, politics, and universities can make. The board, which is confirmed annually by the general assembly, consists of experienced experts such as Prof. Dr. Bernd Siebenhüner, Dr. Alexandra Palzkill, and Hans Haake, who advocate for the internationalization and opening of the field of socio-ecological research.
The VÖW remains a central actor in the field of sustainable development and ecological economic research by continuously providing impulses for a future-oriented economic approach.
