Meydan TV is a Berlin-based, non-profit media organization founded in 2013 by dissident blogger and former political prisoner Emin Milli. The name "Meydan" means "town square" in Azerbaijani and symbolizes the collective struggle for freedom of expression in the region.

The main mission of Meydan TV is to inform active members of society about the political, economic, and social conditions in Azerbaijan and to provide a platform for open and diverse discussions. The goal is to inspire freedom of expression, stimulate public debates, and enrich the cultural environment in Azerbaijan[3][4].

Meydan TV provides its audience access to independent information and new perspectives that are rarely found in state media. The platform produces high-quality and in-depth journalistic reports, documentaries, interviews, Vox Populi, as well as cultural entertainment. It promotes innovative and creative public debates on socio-political issues in Azerbaijan and creates dialogues between people who hold significantly different opinions on various matters[3][4].

Meydan TV has particularly distinguished itself through its reporting on corruption, human rights, and other critical issues in Azerbaijan. During the European Games in 2015 in Baku, when several reporters and foreign observers were excluded from the country, Meydan TV gained international recognition. The organization works in partnership with the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and has produced several reports with the support of the European Endowment for Democracy (EED)[3].

Meydan TV remains active in reporting on current events and issues, including environmental and climate matters. For example, the organization recently reported on the connections between the official partners of the COP29 climate summit and the Aliyev family, as well as on the network of fake accounts that promoted the event[5].
