Sustainability goals and initiatives
editThe aim of the Verein Kinderfreundliche Kommunen is to create sustainable structures that ensure the rights and needs of children in the long term. e Association works closely with local networks and children's organisations to ensure the implementation of children's rights.
Successes and examples
editAn outstanding example of the successful implementation of the programme is the city of Hanau, which participates in the programme as a pilot municipality. Hanau has, among other things, set up a children's and youth office and promotes the participation of children and young people in urban planning processes. Such initiatives show how municipalities can become pioneers in the implementation of children's rights through the programme of the association.
The Verein Kinderfreundliche Kommunen is a major player in the promotion of children's rights in Germany and provides municipalities with the necessary support to create child-friendly environments in which children and young people can know and exercise their rights.
