TRIEBWERK Agroforstwirtschaft & Regenerative Landwirtschaft

TRIEBWERK is a young, innovative company in the field of regenerative agriculture and agroforestry, founded in 2020 by agricultural scientists Christoph A. Meixner, Janos M. Wack, and Nicolas Haack. Our headquarters is located in Meißner, Germany.

Our mission is to bridge the apparent contradictions between nature, environmental, climate protection, and agricultural production through the implementation of regenerative methods. We act as the connecting link between practice, research, politics, and society to realize climate-positive agriculture. Our values include appreciation of social diversity, equality, and respectful interaction, as well as valuing both people and nature.

• Consulting and Planning: We offer well-founded consulting for agricultural practitioners, landowners, politics, educational institutions, associations, and companies. Our consulting covers topics such as multifunctional agroforestry, grazing management, forage crop production, business development, climate change adaptation, environmental services, funding and financing models, legal aspects, utilization concepts, economic analyses, and more[3][4].

• Educational Offerings: We develop and conduct educational formats for agricultural practice and consulting. This includes topic forums at eco-field days and special trainings such as the ClimateFarming Training at the University of Kassel[5].

• Innovation and Research Projects: We are involved in the development, participation, and implementation of innovation and research projects. An example of this is our pioneering project at Werragut, where we are testing a diverse agroforestry system on 12 hectares with over 1000 woody plants and 90 varieties on arable and grassland[5].

• Network and Public Relations: We maintain a network of experts in regenerative agriculture and engage in public relations, including social media, press, and television. Our collaboration with the Daniel Schlegel Environmental Foundation enables co-financing for agroforestry projects with a non-profit background[5].

• Climate Protection and Climate Adaptation: We are committed to the development of climate-resilient and climate-protecting land use systems. Our agroforestry systems contribute to carbon sequestration and adaptation to climate change[5].

• Biodiversity and Environmental Protection: By implementing agroforestry systems, we promote biodiversity and improve soil, water, and air quality. Our methods aim for multifunctional agriculture that has positive effects on climate, soil, biodiversity, water, and society[5].

• Promotion and Political Support: We advocate for and work towards stronger political support for agroforestry to achieve the goals of the federal government in this area. This also includes demands for adequate funding and the removal of legal barriers[5].

Our practical research operation at Werragut serves as a demonstration farm for innovative agroforestry systems. Here, we test and develop new solutions for climate change-adapted cultivation methods and research new products from agroforestry systems[5].
