Tibet Initiative
The Tibet Initiative Deutschland consists nationwide of around 1,500 committed members, numerous supporters, and 50 voluntary regional groups and contact points. Thanks to our many active members, we are deeply rooted in society. The association structure is complemented by our staff in the office in Berlin and our voluntary board. As a non-profit organization, we see ourselves as non-partisan and religiously independent – but we draw a clear line with parties from the right spectrum. We are recognized as non-profit and finance our work almost exclusively through donations and membership fees. In this form, we have been advocating for the self-determination rights of Tibetans and the protection of human rights in Tibet since 1989. Since then, we have established ourselves as a trustworthy actor in the world of Tibet support groups.
