The Stiftung ZURÜCKGEBEN, founded in 1994, is the only foundation in Germany that explicitly promotes Jewish women in the fields of art and science.

The Stiftung ZURÜCKGEBEN views its work as a contribution to remedying the historical injustices suffered by Jewish women during the National Socialist era. By promoting projects that address Jewish themes and have contemporary relevance, the foundation aims to strengthen and preserve the cultural and scientific heritage of Jewish women in Germany. The foundation also supports projects that help victims of violence and discrimination, such as expressing solidarity and empathy with the people in Israel, especially the victims of sexualized violence[2][3].

Application Process

Applications for the annual scholarships can be submitted within a specified period (for the funding year 2025 from May 13 to September 2, 2024). Applications must be in German and in PDF format and should include all necessary documents. A jury consisting of Jewish women decides on the awarding of the scholarships[3].

The Stiftung ZURÜCKGEBEN thus provides an important platform for Jewish women to realize their talents and ideas while contributing to a fairer and more diverse society.
