    About us

RESTLOS GLÜCKLICH e.V. is a non-profit organization, founded in 2015 by Anette Keuchel and Leoni Beckmann, that passionately advocates for a more sustainable and conscious use of food. Our goal is to promote the appreciation and conscious consumption of food in society.

    Key products and services

    • Educational work: We offer a variety of educational projects, participatory actions, cooking workshops, training sessions, and team events where rescued food is processed and tips for more sustainability in everyday life are provided.
    • Elementary school projects: In collaboration with Lidl, we conduct elementary school projects in Berlin and Baden-Württemberg to raise children's awareness of the appreciation of food.
    • Teaching materials: We provide free teaching materials for grades 1-6 that focus on the topics of food appreciation and sustainability.
    • Children's book and audio play: Our children's book, which is now also available as an audio play, is aimed at young readers and listeners to educate them early about the importance of food appreciation.
    • Online consultations and training: We offer free online consultations with nutrition coaches and training for professionals in the preschool sector.

    Main mission and values

Our mission is to reduce the enormous amounts of food waste in Germany. Every year, about 18 million tons of food end up in the trash, even though more than half of it would still be perfectly edible. We advocate that every food item, regardless of its appearance, is considered valuable. Our work is based on the values of sustainability, conscious consumption, and appreciation of food.

    Sustainability goals and initiatives

    • Reducing food waste: Through our educational work and projects, we aim to minimize the amount of food waste and relieve the climate and the environment.
    • Alliance for food rescue: Together with other organizations, we have initiated the Alliance for Food Rescue to act as a strong voice for more appreciation of food and to shape the public discourse with our expertise.
    • Awareness raising: We raise awareness among children, adults, and seniors for a more sustainable approach to food in the kitchen and in everyday life.

Through our diverse activities and initiatives, we continuously work to inspire society about the importance of food appreciation and to promote sustainable changes.
