The Regionalwert AG Hamburg is a citizen stock corporation that has been committed to a sustainable, ecological, and social agriculture and food economy in the region since its founding in May 2014. Founded by 45 citizens and organizations, including numerous farmers and businesses, the Regionalwert AG Hamburg follows the example of the successful Regionalwert AG Freiburg.

Our main mission is to secure and expand the ecological and social foundations of regional nutrition. We focus on a sustainable and regional food economy that is committed to the principles of ecology, sociality, and regionality. Our goal is to promote a sustainable agriculture that ensures a healthy and livable environment for future generations.

The Regionalwert AG Hamburg is a network of farms, artisanal food businesses, traders, restaurants, and service providers. By purchasing shares, shareholders become co-owners of the Regionalwert AG Hamburg and directly support ecological agriculture and the regional food economy. Our partner businesses work closely together by exchanging products and services, thereby building a strong network from field to table.

The Regionalwert AG Hamburg supports a variety of businesses, including restaurants like Hobenköök, which specializes in regional and seasonal products, as well as organic farms like Waldhof Zydek, which implements innovative agricultural projects. Other partners include the restaurant "Zur Erholung," Genusswerke Henes, Alte Schmiede in Ottensen, and Schmidt’s Bagel, all of which reflect our values through their regional and sustainable focus.

The Regionalwert AG Hamburg is a classic stock corporation, but it is not publicly listed. Our shareholders, around 1,800 citizens, companies, and organizations, support the company and decide on important matters such as capital increases and the use of profits at the annual general meeting. The supervisory board, consisting of shareholders, supports and oversees the management board in implementing our goals.

With the funds from new share issues, expected to start at the end of 2025, we aim to strengthen more organic farms, improve food processing, increase demand, and finance more beacons in regional food production. Our vision is to establish a sustainable and healthy food economy that meets the needs of current and future generations.
