About Regionale Diakonie in Hessen und Nassau gGmbH

The Regionale Diakonie in Hessen und Nassau gGmbH is the social work of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau. With around 1,500 employees at 15 locations in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate, the organization is committed to people in difficult situations with expertise and passion.

The core task of the Regionale Diakonie is to advise, support and care for people in emergency situations. The person is viewed in their entirety, from birth to old age. The Regionale Diakonien offer a variety of assistance for people in special life situations and crisis situations. These include:

Pregnancy and pregnancy conflict counseling
Addiction and debt counseling
Community work
Emergency housing assistance

The organization develops concepts for regional diaconal work and sets priorities to address particular problem situations. It encourages and supports diaconal activities in the communities and deaneries. An important aspect is the networking of diaconal work in the region in order to create synergies and make assistance effective.

The Regionale Diakonien are closely linked to Diakonie Hessen and the Evangelische Kirche in Hessen und Nassau (EKHN). They work with various partners, are networked in the region and in neighborhoods, and cooperate with church communities and other actors.

The work of the Regionale Diakonie is financed by grants from the Protestant Church and state associations. Donations play an important role in enabling or securing certain areas of work. The organization welcomes any support from private individuals and companies.
