Radialsystem V
Place for Art and Ideas
editThe Radialsystem V is an anchor institution for the independent scene in Berlin: As a place for contemporary performative art, the house develops, tests, and presents new artistic forms of expression, particularly in the areas of choreography, music theater, and concert, thereby setting international impulses. We want to know what music of the 21st century could sound like and question terms like “classical” and “contemporary” from a global perspective. In the encounter of music with other arts, we seek forms of expression beyond classical concert formats or opera, and as part of the vibrant Berlin dance scene, we create space and visibility for locally and internationally active artists.
The Radialsystem V wants to explore, make permeable, and sometimes redefine boundaries. We bring people with different experiences, bodies, and ways of thinking into conversation and jointly seek new narratives about our world. We want to make culture visible and tangible as a landscape of many equal perspectives. Contradictions are allowed and should coexist, touch each other, and create friction.
We work with partners at the intersection of art, science, and society and want to learn particularly from the voices that are pushed to the margins, to strengthen each other, and to achieve a common polyphony.
Place for Polyphony and Cooperation
editAt the Radialsystem V, people work who meet the unknown with openness and share a spirit of searching and discovering.
We enjoy being good hosts and actively and passionately work together on the question of how we can shape community. Questioning our actions is for us an ethical as well as a creative attitude, and our house is a place that continuously evolves.
The Radialsystem V is a meeting point for exchange and engagement: We want to burst bubbles, turn high culture upside down, and contribute to social change through artistic dialogue. We invite our audience to co-create this vision of a culture for and with everyone.
