PowerShift e.V.

PowerShift e.V. is an independent, non-profit organization that has been committed to a more ecological and socially just world since its founding in 2010. The goal of PowerShift is to show pathways out of the climate crisis and to create political frameworks for a socio-ecological transformation. The organization works to make political processes transparent, to identify problems of the global economic system, and to develop alternatives for action[2][3].

PowerShift focuses on three central areas of work:

• Trade and Investment Policy: The organization advocates for a solidarity-based ecological world trade and climate justice by criticizing opaque negotiations and fighting for compliance with environmental and human rights standards[3].
• Raw Materials Policy: PowerShift works on a raw materials transition to address the environmental and human rights issues arising from the extraction and processing of metals and minerals. This includes the establishment of the European Raw Materials Coalition and the strengthening of indigenous rights[2][3].
• Energy Policy: The organization is committed to a mobility and energy transition by critically examining the high raw material demand and presenting sustainable alternatives. This also includes supporting the development of hydrogen infrastructure[3].

PowerShift is active in various campaigns and initiatives to achieve sustainable changes:

• Climate Justice: Through lobbying and networking with other organizations and social movements, PowerShift works to influence political decision-makers to create the necessary frameworks for a climate-just world[2].
• Raw Materials Transition: The establishment of the Raw Materials Coalition and the adoption of regulations such as the Conflict Minerals Regulation are examples of PowerShift's successful initiatives[2].
