POWER FOR DEMOCRACIES

Power for Democracies is an international research initiative dedicated to the protection and strengthening of liberal democracies worldwide. Founded by Markus N. Beeko, the former Secretary General of Amnesty International in Germany, as well as Stefan Shaw and Stephan Schwahlen, the organization aims to identify and promote the most effective pro-democratic projects from civil society organizations. These projects are analyzed and evaluated in the context of current and emerging threats to democracies.

Power for Democracies focuses on the systematic synthesis and analysis of existing research findings and conducts new studies as needed. The organization publishes recommendations to help private and institutional funders as well as civil society actors optimally deploy their limited resources to protect and strengthen democratic norms and institutions.
